John Frederick Horan is a boy, through and through. If
there is mud to jump in, he is there. If
there is a ball to hit, he is there. Is
that a lightsaber? Did I hear Darth Vader breathing heavily? John's
all about that. Is that a rockin' song with a great drum beat?
Johnny's doing the white boy rocker dance. Is that a target? John's
got his bow or BB gun hitting that target with a dead-eye.
John is named after:
John
wants to grow up to be
a baseball player who is also a jet fighter pilot. He loves warbirds of
all types, especially WWII fighters such as the P-40 Tomahawks, Hellcats,
Spitfires, ME109s and the ever popular Japanese Zero.
Our little boy isn't so little anymore, but he does love school. He's halfway through 5th Grade with Ms. Hoffmann at Saint Damian, where he is also a member of
Webelos Den 348.
John was
fortunate enough to play on the 2006 Mustang Champion Marlins, playing for Coach Brad "Git-R-Done" Stewart on the Marlins.
John pitched two perfect innings to close out the final game.
2007 was another successful season, but the boys fell short of the
championship. Still, over two years the Fighting Fish had a
record of 39-5, which is a healthy .886 winning percentage.
Not too shabby!

He is also playing for Coach Brad on the Oak Forest Blue Demons
Part-Time Travel team. He’s a
southpaw with a powerful arm and a dangerous bat,
and he excels as a first baseman and pitcher.

In 2008 John will
be playing for Coach Tony Wrenn's Oak Forest Blue Demons full-time
travel baseball team.
John
is getting ready to begin his second season playing for Coach Phil
McNally on the Saint Damian Gold basketball team. He is also
playing S.A.K. basketball Coach Jeff and the Hawks.
He loves grabbing rebounds and he loves taking the shot from the
corner.
John
recently finished
his fourth year in Oak Forest Flag Football, playing for Coach Tim
Meline
on the Buccaneers. He hates running the monster laps, but loves
the game. He's become an excellent Center and a true
blue junkyard dog of a Defensive Tackle. Legalized hitting is his kind of thing!
All that and he does the punting and occasionally plays some
Quarterback.

He has his Dad’s eyes and his Dad’s shoulders.
Oh, and it is often said that he has his Dad’s temper.
Other than that, he is his Mother’s mini-me.
He can wander about the backyard for days on end, only stopping for
sustenance.
